Cky
Cky is a short from for "Camp Kill Yourself" (CKY), in 1994 West Chaster, PA, friends Deron Miller and Jess Margera formed a band under the name Foreign Objects. Then Cky released 5 track EP in 1995 in Distance Recordings called The Undiscovered Numbers & Colours which has been described by some as "Earth Crisis meets Rush". Then they have decided to start band with name "Oil" in 1996 then there was a some confusion with that name they have changed it to Camp Kill Yourself. CKY is a 4-piece rock band consists of Deron Miller (vocals, guitar), Chad Ginsburg (guitar, vocals, producer), Jess Margera (drums), and Matt "Dice" Deis (bass).
Their first album was "Volume 1" which was released in 1999 with numerous times of different labels, art work and titles. The original album cover featured an artistic rendition of Budd Dwyer as he famously shot himself on live television. The album has been released by Teil Martin International, Volcom Entertainment and most recently, Island Records. The song "What's It All For?" by Bazaar Royale, featured on the Cradle 2 the Grave soundtrack, samples "96 Quite Bitter Beings", the first track off of this album.
Then "volume 2" was released in 1999 it was initially released as a single disc soundtrack to the CKY video series, it includes skits and aongs in it. It has since been re-released as a double-disc set, with the second disc full of prank phone calls. "Disengage the Simulator EP" was released in 2000 it's title has been selected from the Volume 1, this was printed in less number of copies there were about 2,000 only.
"Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild" was brought out in September 24, 2002 by Island Records, it has spawned music videos for the songs "Flesh Into Gear" and "Attached at the Hip". Also released a video album of IDR, in which the videos were directed by Bam Margera, Dave Deneen (for the stop-motion "Inhuman Creation Station" video and Deron Miller (though officially uncredited, Bam Margera credits Deron for directing "Shock and Terror"). Along with videos for "96 Quite Bitter Beings" and "Disengage the Simulator", and a photo gallery.
"Hellview" released in 2003 has Limited to 2,200 copies on cinderblock.com but still sold in Hot Topic.
The last one at present was "Answer Can be Found" was released in June 28, 2005. The working title for the album was The Butcher's Hand. It is Cky final album with Island, having been released from their contract in April of 2006.
