Incubus
Incubus is five-man laternative rock band based out of Calabasas, CA.
The Incubus members include Brandon Boyd (Vocals and percussion), mike Einziger (guitar),Ben
Kenney (bass), jose Pasillas (drums) and Dj Kilmore (turntables) and Alex Katunich
(a.k.a Dirk Lance)(bass).
The Story behind the name is that apparently the band needed to think of a name
fifteen minutes before thier first show and, after a few failed choices
Mike looked in a thesaurus and chose "Incubus" almost at random.On June 4th,
1990, the band was formes while they jose Pasillas met Mike Einziger, who spent most of
his time playing guitar in his bebroom. later, while attending Calabasas high school,
the pair became friends with bassist Alex Katunich, who had recently been
kicked out of jazz band because he Couldn't read music and he threw gum in all
jazz flutists hair. In 1990, the three decided to form a music gropu for fun
and at first, mainly played Metallica amd Megadeth.
Incubus band With members Brandon Byod and Jose pasillas attending Moorpark Community
College, mike decided to try out for out for a small time artist Alanis Morissette's
band he did not end up joining the their own fame. Throughout 1994, Incubus found time in their s
schedules to write, record and perform shows. The Marked their first demo tape release, titled
Closet Cultivation. They had been recording their demos with atape recorder inthe
middle of the room.
After constant touring throughout 1998, the band started the new year by heading out on the
Black Sabbath tour untill mid March. Incubus then took some time off to record their
new album, Make Yourself. After relentless work in the studio, it was releasd on october
26th 1999. Right after their album's release, the band went on tour with Primus and
Buckethead, a tour which lastef for the remainder of the year. In spring of 2005, the band went back into the studio. Three new songs were
released in late july 2005 as part of the soundtrack album to a new sony film Steath
starring Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel.
