Rihanna

Rihanna is a Barbadian pop singer with musical infulences from dancehall and R&B. She is from Caribbean island in the parish of St. Michael. Rihanna was discovered by music producer Evan Rogers while he was vacationing in Barbados with his wife Jackie, who is also a Bajan.

Her debut album was "Music of the Sun" which he co-wrote released in August 2005 and lead by single "Pon de Replay" which stood on second place on U.S Billboard Hot 100 and UK singles chart. The next was "If It's Lovin' That You Want", was less successful than its predecessor but still reached the top twenty in many countries. This peaked it self within the top ten in Australia, Canada and US, and among forty top list in UK.
In 2006, Rihanna landed several endorsement deals, including ones for Nike and J.C. Penney. In addition to a cameo role in Bring It On 3, she also released her sophomore album, A Girl Like Me, in April 2006. It was debuted at number 5 in US and 6th position in UK, and it's sales were about 115,126 in the first week itself. The lead single, "S.O.S. (Rescue Me)", was recorded for her endorsement deal with Nike. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Hot Dance Music/Club Play, and debuted at number one on the Hot Digital Songs chart where it became the biggest first week digital single ever with over 169,000 copies sold in its first week, this was placed at 1st in America and 2nd in UK.

Then second single album was "Unfaithful" written by Ne-Yo, is a slow ballad which addresses the feelings of guilt a girl faces as she cheats on her boyfriend. The song debuted at 51st position on the Billboard Hot 100. The video for “Unfaithful”, directed by Anthony Mandler, made its MTV debut this week on TRL - where “S.O.S.” has already enjoyed its own 1st stay. The “S.O.S.” video, directed by Chris Applebaum , was also at number 1 on AOL video (with over 8 million plays to date) and Top 5 at Yahoo! Music. Along with music, Rihanna also kept dealing with J.C Penney and Nike. Apart from of her music career, Rihanna will make a special appearance on Cartoon Network's series Friday's.
