Slipknot
Slipknot presently one of the more popular musical groups of the Contemporary music scene, with theser tremendous music and violent stage performances. Slipknot albums and videos have achieved Platinum-sales status, with Grammy nods in the Best Heavy Metal and Best Hard Rock categories for songs from all four of their albums. Another important thing is band. Band is also well-known for its peculiar image: the members wear matching uniforms (some of which have UPC barcodes printed on the them) and each has a unique mask.
Slipknot has a group which was formed in 1995, and released a demo album. The album name is "Mate Feed Kill Repeat" in 1996. The album was well-received, and several major record labels became interested in the group. prevoisly they were only 5 members. Slipknot eventually signed to Roadrunner Records, and released their self-titled debut album in June of 1999. Despite receiving little airplay, the album was successful, due mainly to word-of-mouth. Regarding the album, one reviewer wrote "You thought Limp Bizkit was hard? They're the Osmonds. (Slipknot) are something else entirely.

Slipknot is one of the prominent examples of alternative heavy metal. Exploding on the scene with a horror-movie image complete with nuclear-reactor jumpsuits, bizarre face-masks, and referring the number as (0-8) rather than name, they blended turntable scratching, sampling, and exotic percussion with the typical heavy metal formula of guitar, bass, and drums. Forming in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995, they self-recorded and -released their debut CD, Mate. Kill. Feed. Repeat, which immediately drew the attention of major labels. After signing with Roadrunner Records, they recorded Slipknot in 1999, which became the first platinum record in the small label's history and reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. A performance at 1999 Ozzfest cemented the band's newfound popularity. Their follow-up CD, Iowa, was released in late 2001.
